Rogelio Noy Rojas, 51, of New Orleans, LA, died Monday, November 26, 2018. He was born August 12, 1967 in Camagüey, Cuba, the son of the late Onelia Rojas and the late Rolando Noy. Rogelio is survived by his fiancé Tina Marie González, his daughter Sasha, his step-daughter Angela González and step-son Robert Hudson; his cousins Haydee Oller, Mercedes Ricardo Rojas, Bárbara Sanabia Rojas, Maria Rojas González, Raquel Martínez Rojas, Raúl Rojas and Ricardo Rovirosa. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Onelia Rojas, his uncle Rolando Rojas, his aunt Raquel Rojas López and many other family members.
He attended S. J. Peters Middle School and Warren Easton Senior High School. He loved art in his younger years and had an innate talent for turning the things he loved into beautiful art. He developed a career in construction and enjoyed showcasing his projects with immense pride in transforming the homes he worked on in every facet of his trade. He was loved by many because he never met a stranger and always wanted to jump in and offer a helping hand. His larger then life personality always ingratiated him with those he encountered. He will be greatly missed by many.
Funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Timothy Ponce’ at Faith Temple Church of God, 800 South Jamie Blvd, Avondale LA 70094 on Saturday, December 15th at 10 am. The service will be immediately followed at Faith Temple Church of God by a repass December 15th from 11 am to 1 pm.
