Russell Joseph Blanchard

Russell J. Blanchard, a resident of Donaldsonville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the age of 83. Russell was employed as a Sales Manager with Thibout Tractor Company, Thibout Oil Company, and Thibout Oil/ Marcello Distributor, which he retired from after 63 years of service. Russell enjoyed hunting, caring for his yard, cultivating his citrus trees, and following LSU and Saints football in his free time. Russell is survived by his sons, Kenneth Blanchard and wife, Faye, and Rudy Blanchard and wife Cathy; sister, Shirley Judice of Centerville, LA; brothers Harry, Eugene, Mervin Blanchard of Thibodeaux, Gus Blanchard of Shriever, and Kelly Blanchard of Labadieville; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna Rivere Blanchard; parents, Clement Sr. and Elaine Theriot Blanchard; brothers, Lawrence, LeeRoy, Clement Jr., and infant sister, Elsie Blanchard. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, LA from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment immediately followed at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Cemetery.
