DONALDSONVILLE, LA – On May 2, 2018, Shirley LeBlanc Randazzo died peacefully at her residence and entered her well-deserved eternal rest. She leaves behind her loving family and personal legacy. Shirley was born on April 16, 1934 and lived in White Castle, La until she married in 1954 and spent the rest of her life as a resident of Donaldsonville, La. Shirley recently happily celebrated her 84th Birthday!
Shirley, in all aspects and roles, was a loving, caring and wonderful person who was always there for everyone in her life and, at many times, to people she just met or hardly knew. For nearly 60 years she was always at Daddy’s side, whether at the Randazzo gas stations in Donaldsonville and White Castle or on the passenger side of Daddy’s 18-wheeler delivering gasoline and, later freight from all over the world to the Gulf Coast. Wherever Daddy went, Momma was there! She not only raised her six children, but was a tremendous help to her children helping to raise many of her grandchildren. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren she was always affectionately known as “Monk”, a name given to her by her very first grandchild – Kim – and she was continued to be called Monk until her last peaceful breath was taken. Her legacy of caring, compassion, kindness and unconditional love for all has been passed on from her to all of her family and to many others she came in contact with.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Matthew (Matteo) J. Randazzo, Jr., her parents Etienne Sr. and Mabel Gomez LeBlanc and her brothers, Jerry and Jeddy LeBlanc, and her sons, Stephen J. Randazzo and Timothy J. Randazzo, Sr.
