Sidney Anthony Goetz Jr.

Sid was a devoted father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was also a caring neighbor who touched the lives of many. For years he faithfully served as Maintenance Manager at Prevost Memorial Hospital, a role he took great pride in. Sid truly loved his work. He was deeply loved by everyone at the hospital. He shared a special friendship with the hospital administrator, Vince Cataldo and was admired for his dedication, warmth, and unwavering kindness.

Sid, like his father, was a man who worked with his hands and could repair anything. Sid’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and devotion to family, friends and community. Sid was a man of strong faith. He lived his life guided by the values of humility, compassion and service to others. He found comfort and strength in prayer and trusted God’s plan. His deep faith was an inspiration to those who knew him. Sid believed in eternal life through Jesus Christ and his family takes solace in knowing that he is now resting in the presence of the Lord.

Sid’s service will include memories of Sid’s son, “Little Sid” . Little Sid was confined to a nursing home following an auto accident. Sid would care for his son every day until his passing. Little Sid was Sid’s heart and soul.

Sid leaves behind to cherish his memory his three sisters, Linda Landry (David), Cynthia Morris (Patrick), and Mary Mitchell (Glen Gueret). His nieces and nephews: Chad Landry (Nikki), Matthew Morris (Blair), Elizabeth Morris (Meghan Turner), Laura Harper (Blake), Jacob Mitchell, and Jordan Mitchell. His great nieces and nephews: Tessie Landry, Shelbi Landry, Avery Adams, Wesley Morris, Rory Harper, Avery Harper, Oliver Harper, Daxx Mitchell and Harper Mitchell.

Sid was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney A Goetz Sr and Cynthia Himel Goetz, his son, Sidney a Goetz III, and his sister, Theresa Louise Goetz.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Morris, Matthew Morris, John Goetz, Chad Landry, Vince Cataldo, and Chris Caballero Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Ascension Catholic Church from 10:15 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm. Internment will follow in Ascension Catholic Cemetery.
