OBITUARY

Virginia LeBlanc

October 19, 1917January 13, 2014

Virginia “Jennie” LeBlanc “Jennie” entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2014 at her home in Paincourtville, Louisiana. She was 96 years old, born on October 19, 1917 in Grand Bayou, Louisiana. “Jennie” was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She loved her church and St. Elizabeth School, which she lovingly referred to as “The Convent”. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, with Reverend Andrew Merrick as celebrant. Entombment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home of Donaldsonville. She is survived by a brother- Alfred LeBlanc, a sister- Annette Simoneaux, and husband Curtis. She was dearly loved by a host of nieces and nephews and their families who affectionately referred to her as Aunt Jennie, Nannie and Ganny. She is preceded in death by her parents- Annette and Felix LeBlanc; sisters- Lena Newchurch & husband Roy, and Bernice Comeaux & husband Albert; brothers- Pierce “Peter” Leblanc, Joseph “Jo Jo” Leblanc and wife Marilyn; sister-in-law- Norma Leah LeBlanc, and niece Marilyn “Lyn” Leblanc Judy. Pallbearers will be Gerald Talbot, Brent Caballero, Skyler Talbot, Logan “Noogie” Talbot, Paul Leblanc, John Leblanc, Matthew Klack, and Brian Breaux. Honorary Pallbearer will be Sammy Klack,. Very Special Gratitude to Cardinal Hospice of Baton Rouge, and all of Ganny’s Beloved Sitters. Words fail the family when attempts are made to share just how special you all have been during Ganny’s last years and months of her active life. She has been truly blessed by your tender care and concern for her. You have been the Guardian Angels that allowed her final wish to be granted- to remain in her “home”. That is, until home in Paincourtville no longer provided her with all that she deserved, and a ‘better’ resting place was determined for her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth School, Post Office Drawer M, Paincourtville, LA 70391 and/or St. Elizabeth Church, Post Office Box 1, Paincourtville, LA 70391. Condolences can be made at www.oursodonaldsonville.com.

Ms. Jennie has been a part of my life forever. She has always been our neighbor and my mother's best friend. The Golden Girls as I called them, had some fun times together playing bingo or going to the casino. They could always make each other laugh. My mother has lost her final friend. They have all gone to their reward in Heaven. I know they must be starting a bingo game up there, With Jennie enjoying her "tea." My sympathy to all of the family. We will miss her dearly. She was loved by many and gave her love in return. Enjoy Heaven, dear lady!
