Alipio Villena Pestanas was born on December 28, 1929 to Captain Alipio R. Pestanas and Guadalupe V. Pestanas. He was from Pasay City, Philippines and the youngest and only boy of 7 children. He moved to the United States with his beloved wife, Leonida (“Nida”), to a small apartment in Los Angeles before settling in the quiet suburb of Bellflower, CA, where he fathered two happy children, Michael and Michelle. “Ollie” had a passion for cars – from a 1969 Ford Grand Torino, a 1977 VW Bus, to a 2005 Honda Civic. His hobbies included photography, electronics, and listening to music in his living room. He will be remembered as kind hearted and joker – always laughing and looking at the bright side of every situation. In 1981, Ollie and Nida lost their son, Michael, to brain cancer – Even with that tragedy, he loved his family and enjoyed a wonderful and happy life traveling and spending time with his family to the fullest.
