Betty was born in San Diego, CA. on Nov. 10th, 1916. She met Clarence while in High School and it was love at first sight. They were married on October 11, 1936 in Balboa Park, San Diego. They were married for 67 yrs. Most of that time was spent in San Diego until Clarence retired and they moved to Big Bear. Betty loved the mountains, she loved to garden. She planted many beautiful flowers around the huge pine trees in the yard, roses, sweet peas were one of her favorites. She loved hummingbirds, she had several feeders and you can see several at one time just sitting there.
Betty also loved the beach, she spent many days at Mission beach soaking up the sun in her younger days. Later she and Clarence vacationed several times in Hawaii. They both enjoyed Don Ho and would always see his show while there. They also took trips to Morro Bay just up the coast.
Betty also loved to sew. It was an inherited talent from her Mother and Grandmother who sewed many costumes for the Theaters in San Diego. She sewed many clothes for her daughter Sharon, including two beautiful prom dresses. What a talent she had.
Some might say she has hard headed, set in her ways, and she way was. She was a very strong woman. How else does one live to be 92 yrs old? Clarence passed 4 yrs ago and now Betty has left us to be with him again, to dance the jitterbug, "to cut a rug" as she would say.
Betty has left behind a Daughter, Sharon, son-in law, John - two Granddaughters, Laurie and Sarah - 4 Great Grandchildren, Marrisa, Matt, Boo and Bailey.
