

He was 77 years old.
Born in Quezon City, Philippines, Del’s first job was as a furniture designer. A writer and artist, Del wrote a weekly sports column for the Pacific Daily News, a book on the Esguerra family’s immigration to the United States titled, “Agos”, and his fine art photography was published in “America at the Millenium: Historic Photography Anthology”. An enthusiastic sport fisherman, avid golfer, and a competitive bowler, Del’s mantle was full of trophies, but his passion was for community service - devoting his time, energy and enthusiasm as a member of the Downey Lions Club, Downey Kiwanis Club, Toastmasters Club of Downey, and as Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
Del S. Esguerra is survived by his wife, Angie; his son Angel; daughter Celia Winstead, sons-in-law Jim Winstead and James Adams. He is additionally survived by brothers Rafael S. Esguerra of Los Angeles, Rev. Fr. Gorgonio Esguerra of Xavier Jesuit House in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, Arturo Esguerra of Long Island, New York, and sister Remedios Lorenzo of Dededo, Guam.
