Doris Schnablegger passed away at home on January 6th, 2012 with her family by her side. Born in Arkansas to Eugene and Nelle Duncan on February 5th, 1933, and moved to California in 1943. She graduated from Bell High in 1950 and married Bernard Rosbottom the following year. They enjoyed 8 years of marriage until Bernie’s untimely death in 1959. Doris later married Joseph Schnablegger and shared 39 years of happiness before his passing in 2000.
Doris enjoyed travel, cards, dancing, theater, crossword puzzles, and most especially spending time with her family. Doris was an avid sports fan and loyal follower of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and LA Dodgers. However, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and she could undoubtedly be found at a local sporting venue rooting them on.
Doris is survived by her loving sons: Mark Rosbottom (Sue), Craig Rosbottom (Carrie), Tim Rosbottom, Jon Schnablegger (Rosalia); beloved grandchildren: Kristen (Rosbottom) Murphy, Jamie (Rosbottom) MacBeth, Christopher Rosbottom, Nicholas Rosbottom, Lauren Rosbottom, Jonathan Schnablegger, Ashleigh Hadock; great-granddaughers: Emma McBeth, Natalie Murphy; stepsons: Ron Schnablegger (Joyce), Glen Schnablegger (Christine).
Visitation Friday January 13th from 4-8 p.m. at Whites Mortuary in Bellflower. Service at White’s Mortuary on Saturday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m., with final interment at Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery in Whittier. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
