Jean-a beautiful christian woman who loved her family and friends. As a neighbor of Jeans, I can say that her love for her family and Our Lord was always evident in the way she treated and cared for others.  Our laughter and tears that we shared, will never be forgotten. Her and Al's kindness and love towards our family will always be treasured and I am grateful for that.

In 28 years of ministry, I've been to a funeral or two, and I've presided over my fair share of them.  In all those years, I've never been to a Home-Going Service with more love, joy, and laughter than that of my Mother's.  And that's exactly how it should have been for Jean Coleman.  What a legacy!  Dad and Mother's ability and willingness to open their home to family, friends, and strangers, and generously share love, laughter, and break bread is a perpetual living legacy that each of us boys strive to emulate.  Thank you, Dad & Mother!  You have set the bar extremely high, and we will try to do our best to "make you proud."

Aunt Jean was such a unique and special person, always had a smile on her face and I will NEVER forget her laugh! So caring and special, she really left behind a wonderful family legacy. She was extremely loved and gave a lot of love. You are missed very much.

There is nothing I can say except "Thank You" for all the wonderful memories.  

Jean was known to my family as Gramma Jean. I will never forget the many hugs and words of encouragement during difficult phases in my life. There will not be a day that goes by that I will not have happy thoughts. Life blessings come in many forms, and Jean was one of the best in mine.

I will forever be grateful for the little life-lessons Jean has taught me through out the years. Among many things, Jean and Al have taught me that it's okay to be- less than perfect. Jean also taught me to see the beautiful things in life, I still remember her turtles. And, there was one time, I had my own little "Amanda's Newspaper" going, and it lasted for maybe 6 months. But she supported it every step of the way and I will be grateful for that. The Coleman's- all of them- have been a safe haven for people all over; and as I was looking around at the service, it became apparent that she influenced the whole gamut of people, a plethora of ages, races, gender, walks of life. She was not one to judge, and I can only hope that I can follow in her steps some day. Gramma Jean, you are terribly missed, but you are home. Say Hi to Grams for me. With all my love, Amanda.

to AL and Jean too...always you have been there. Always a safe place to go. Always a helping hand. Always an understanding heart. Always a guiding light! Always .....

I cannot tell you what that lady meant to me! I informed my mom and dad and will be in contact shortly. I have that strange, empty feeling in my chest.
Fare thee well Mrs. Coleman and shall we gather at the river.

What a privilege it has been to know Jean for these last 45 years or so.  I will miss her friendliness, her words of advice, and even the "mom" looks she would have for me whenever I related some strange event happening in my life.  She was more than my neighbor.  I have witness first hand the absolute grace and generosity of her family this past week, as they all carry on.  She has much to be proud of.
