It’s been a year today since mom’s passing. So many times I’ve started to call her and tell her what’s going on with me and the kids. She was always there  Willing to help in anyway she could. Could not ask for a better mother. I know that urge to give her a call will continue throughout my life. And I’m happy about that.

I was so fortunate that Jeanne came into my life when I was only 4, and from then on she was my Grandma. After every holiday dinner I couldn't wait to go over to her and Grandpa Ralph's house to spend the night where I was allowed to gorge on doughnuts and color all day. I was in awe of the old glamorous pictures of her, I thought she looked like Snow White - what could be more amazing! I told her that when I got older and she thought it was pretty funny.  Her love and devotion to Grandpa Ralph was always an inspiration to me, they must had one of the greatest romances of all time. She had the best little laugh, it didn't come out too often, but she sparkled when it did.  You are missed and loved Grandma Jeanne. 

Grandma maybe wasn't the best gift giver in the world, but she understood that being around your loved ones is the best gift there is

I have a lot in common with my grandma Jeanne:
We have the same middle name (Lorraine)
We love to travel (she traveled a lot in her younger days) 
We love chocolate (she had a bigger sweet tooth than anyone I ever knew) 
We love dogs
We love fashion (by the photos it looked like she rocked some gorgeous looks in her day)
We love jewelry (I’ve inherited some cool costume jewelry and fine jewelry from her over the years)
We both love to win contests 
I think from the thighs down I have the same legs/feet as her. She had thick jet black hair in her youth. Her maiden name was Cormany.
I always wished I knew more about her. Unlike me, she just wasn’t much of a sharer or talker. She would answer questions but not elaborate. I guessed she was just content to watch and observe. As she got older and older she did become more affectionate, wanting kisses and hugs goodbye and saying, “i love you”. 

I’m so grateful I got to see her and talk to her in February of 2020. Happy that J.R. got to meet her and see some of her humor in action when she snuck an entire bowl of clam linguini into her dog’s food bowl behind my dad’s back all while muttering...”sneakin’”. So thankful we shared thanksgiving together in November of 2019. 
She was my last living grandparent. I was her only blood granddaughter/daughter. I always wondered if she could see parts of herself in me. If she did, she kept it to herself. It wasn’t personal - that’s just who she was. 
Love you, grandma. Thank you for everything.
