

Lupe was born at home in East Los Angeles, California on December 9, 1924. Her parents were Eusebio Perez and Eloisa Acevedo Perez. She was the 5th of 13 children. She married young and had four children Robert, Barbara, Alma and Lillie. She was a firm mother who symbolized strength and endurance in the home. She has 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandson.
She went from working in fields as a child to working on the Columbia Space Shuttle for Rockwell International. She was very proud to work for Rockwell, where she retired from over 30 years of service.
She loved nature and always had many pets to include cats, dogs, birds, turtles and koi fish. Her hobbies included gardening, growing roses, cooking and baking. Many family and friends enjoyed her cooking. She was known for her German chocolate cakes, her delicious carne con chile and her famous fried okra.
She loved Hawaii and had fond memories of her visit to the islands. She enjoyed listening to Hawaiian music, Elvis and Dean Martin. Her favorite song was, “That’s Amore”. She even has a cockatiel at home that can whistle the tune.
She loved people, kids and animals, whether you were her grandchild, neighborhood kid, mailman or stray cat Lupe always ensured she had a treat to give.
She was a strong, respectable woman who always made a point to make others feel special. She has many friends and family who love her and will greatly miss her.
