Sadie Porter was born in Edgerton, Minnesota, to Sam and Johanna Porter. Sadie was the oldest followed by Alice, John, Marvin and Francis. Sadie married John Verhoeven on October 23, 1934; they were married almost 75 years. Together they owned Hygienic Dairy Farms in Paramount, California for 20 years. They had for children, Arnold (deceased) and Pat Verhoeven (Sloan), Joy and David Haringa, Marie and Maynard Troost and John Jr. and Kathy Verhoeven.
John and Sadie had 13 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren. They attended First Christian Reformed Church of Bellflower their whole lives. As mother and grandmother, she hosted many lunches and dinners in her own home for all occasions. She always said “Family comes first”. We loved her very much; she is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour.
