Walter Forrest Baggs, 100 years, passed after a short illness, December 17, 2017 in hospital in Lakewood, California. Walter lived at home in Bellflower, California until his recent medical issues where he and his wife, Elizabeth/Betty, lived since May 1950. Walter was born on February 23, 1917 in Carroll County, Missouri to Clarence F. and Noema A. Baggs. He moved to California in August 1940. He married Betty in Bellflower in May 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Walter was employed in the automotive industry for most of his working career serving the longest period of about 30 years with Ford Motor Company as a spot welder.
Walter is survived by his children Rosalee/Rose Pothier, William Wayne “Bill” Baggs and W. Keith Baggs along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as one brother C. Wayne Baggs and many nieces and nephews. His wife of 72 years predeceased him in December 2014.
Services for Walter in celebration of life will be held at White’s Funeral Home in Bellflower, California on December 27, 2017 at 11 a.m.
