With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Betty Milligan, in her 81st year surrounded by family. Betty will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Walter of 52 years, her children Kathleen (Brandon), Nikki (Dwight), her grandchildren Sam and Sophia. She will also be missed by her sister Eleanor (Gordon), and nephews John (Sasha) and Colin (Debra). Betty will be dearly remembered by many more family and friends in Northern Ireland. She will also be missed by her grand-pups Guinness and Finnigan.
Betty was a beacon of warmth and love, renowned for her joy in entertaining and hosting gatherings for family and friends; her gardens flourished under her tender care, as did the countless knitting projects she lovingly created. An exceptional cook, Betty’s recipes brought comfort and delight to all who tasted them. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose legacy of kindness, dedication and nurturing will forever be cherished.
A special thank you to the exceptional care team at Birch Trail in St. Joseph’s Villa, the care team surpassed all expectations with their remarkable dedication and compassion, constantly going above and beyond to provide unparalleled support and kindness that truly made a difference.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or St. Joseph’s Villa.
A visitation will be held at Marlatt funeral home, Swackhamer chapel (905-627-7452), 195 King Street, West, Dundas, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12:00pm-2:00pm. A funeral service will be held following in the chapel at 2:00pm.
