Obituary of Carol Lynn Bittman
With heavy hearts we announce that Carol Bittman has passed away with family and friends by her side, on January 21, 2023, at 72 years of age. Beloved wife to John and adored mother of Kyle, Gregory and Daniel. She is loved dearly by daughters-in-law, Leigh Ann, Kimberly and Michele. Cherished and doting grandma to Everly and Owen, along with many fur-grandkids. Daughter of the late John and Marion Foster of Sarnia, Carol is dear sister to Jerrie and niece of Patricia and Helen. Wonderful sister-in-law to Helen and Judy. Predeceased by brothers-in law Bob, Nick and Paul. Affectionately remembered by many nieces and nephews. Carol was a devoted friend and neighbour to many. Carol will be remembered for her powerful ability to love and give to others. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Good Shepherd, Neighbours in Need, among other organizations. She always helped her family, friends and neighbours in any way she could. Coming from Sarnia, she began her nursing career at the General Hospital in Hamilton before transferring to the Maternity ward at McMaster where she worked for a total of 40 years. She met John, her soulmate of almost 49 years, and together they have spent their days helping others, going on walks, gardening and enjoying their grandkids and pets. Carol was the happiest when all of her “people” were together under one roof. She was an avid baker and always made sure everyone was well-fed despite a plethora of dietary restrictions to navigate. She was known for her deliveries of baked goods and Costco hauls. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 260 Herkimer St. (at Locke St. S.), Hamilton on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at 11 am, with visitation from 10 am – 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Carol’s memory, may be made to the Good Shepherd. “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother”
