October 17, 1943 - March 27, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Dianne and her husband Dr. Klaus L.E. Kaiser announces her peaceful passing at the age of 82. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. Albert R. and his wife Beatrice E. Dinniwell (nee Lapp), and her brother, Dr. Edward R. Dinniwell.
Dianne was the love of mine for 48 years, mother of our sons Dr. Edward L.R. Kaiser and Andrew W.G. Kaiser, Grandmother of Edward's and Ashley's (nee Burt) daughters Tessa and Nora, and of Andrew's and Amanda's (nee Raphael) twins Max and Sam. Dianne is also remembered with deep sorrow by her nephews Dr. Robert E. and David A. Dinniwell together with their families, and by her sister-in-law Dorcas A. Dinniwell, and by my own siblings.
Dianne was a professional geographer with a Master's degree from McMaster University in Hamilton. After working for 10 years at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters in Burlington, she retired from service when our sons were born to take care of her family. Dianne was an avid reader of local news and general literature, for many years active in the Hamilton Weavers Guild and weaving on a manual loom, creating patchworks, enjoying nature, connecting via internet video or telephone with our distant children and grandchildren, hiking and near shore boating and dining at Henry's in the 30,000 islands area in Georgian Bay, and having dinner with friends at various places.
Not exactly vociferous, Dianne was rather a listener than a 'waterfall-like' talker, however, when asked for or she felt compelled, she was quite ready to voice her strong opinion, pro or contra to whatever was the point of discussion. -- As her hubby, I can say that based on experience. Dianne's Mom, who outlived her husband for many years, had an expression 'Not being backward about being forward'. Dianne was likewise, as the sayings go 'The apple does not fall far from the tree' or a 'Chip from the block.'
We thank the medical professionals of the ambulance crew, and the St. Joseph's and Juravinski Hospitals in Hamilton who made her last hours comfortable. Cremation has taken place.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, 17 April, at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King St. W in Dundas, with visitation by family and friends from 11:30--12:15, followed by a brief Service by Brent Ellis, long-time family friend, followed by a catered luncheon at the funeral home facility that has ample parking space.
Instead of sending flowers, if you desire to make a donation in memory of Dianne, kindly choose your preferred charitable organisation. We thank you on behalf of Dianne.
