Mrs. Evelyn Viola James

JAMES, Evelyn Viola – Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon James. Loving mother of George (Lil) and Gary (Pat). Predeceased by her daughter Gail. Cherished Grandma of Jody (Agui), Nathan (Alexandra), Justin (Erica), Ashley (Stu), Julia (Rob), Jon (Lindsay) and Joel (Meagan). Great-Grandma of Mackenzie, Abbie, Aiden, Justin Jr. and Jaxon. She will be missed by her lifelong friend Audrey Whittle, her sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main St. E. (just east of Sanford) on Sunday from 11am – 1pm. A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will follow in the chapel at 1pm. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, on Monday January 18, at 1pm. In Evelyn’s memory donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA, would be appreciated.

The family wish to offer their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, especially Dr. Joe, the staff of the Medical Step Down Unit and Complex Care Level 6, as well as the staff of St. Peter’s Chedoke.
