Florence Young

It is with great sadness that on Feb 26. 2014 in her 94th year we announce the passing of our sister, aunt, cousin and friend Florence (Florrie) nee Barron. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Claude (CB) in 2006. Beloved sister of Lillian Gable (Dell 1963); predeceased by Dorothy (2009), Fred (1991) and sister-in-law Lucy (2011). She was loved and special aunt to Debbie (Garth), Carolyn (David), Dell (Regina), Mary Jane (Richard), Marjorie (Garry), predeceased by Mary Lou (2006). Great Aunt to Lauren and Elliott Rate, Reid (Andra) and Colin (Kim) Flock, Kerry and Jennifer (Sean) Pigott, Nicole and Chris Doerffer (Kim), Jamie (Cheryl), Heather (Ryan) and Lucas Stamp and great, great aunt to 8. She was a very private person and will be missed by many family and friends including cousins with whom she met for monthly luncheon dates. All will remember Florrie for her cooking and baking, entertaining family BBQs and amazing patience for her petit point pictures which when finished looked like paintings. Much thanks to the EMS, Dr AJ Eby, ER physician; Social worker, John O’Neil; ER Charge nurse Tara Clauson-Simpson and nurse Dwayne all of St Joseph’s hospital for all of the care and support. Cremation has taken place. As per Florence’s wishes there will be no funeral or visitation. Arrangements have been made through JB Marlatt Funeral Home, Dundas.
