It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Helen Harrison, nee Egan on December 30, 2025. She has joined her parents, Francis Harold Egan and Annie Eliza Egan, her sister, Edith M. Burroughs, brothers, Albert Egan and William Egan. She will be welcomed in heaven by her soulmate and loving husband, Kenneth George Harrison and her beautiful older daughter, Christine Victoria Folkes.
She will be greatly missed by her youngest daughter, Jackie Hobbins and her sons-in-law, Dennis Hobbins and Paul Folkes. Her grandchildren Andrew Folkes, Stephanie Scott (Kenny) and Samantha Marlow (Shawn) will miss the best grandmother in the world. Frances’ great grandsons, Kayden Marlow, Asher Scott, Phineas Scott and Theo Marlow, will dearly miss their beloved GiGi.
Frances touched many hearts during her lifetime and was known to be someone you could count on to sew a costume, wetsuit, prom dress or wedding dress. If you needed a bouquet or flower arrangement, she was your girl. She was famous for her buttertarts, pies or cookies. She could do anything if she put her mind to it.
Frances loved to dance. While working in accounts payable, she was part of the show put on by Studebaker and could be seen dancing on stage doing high kicks. She continued to dance well into her 90’s at her granddaughters’ weddings.
Frances was one of a kind and will be remembered fondly by many who knew her. She delivered meals on wheels, taught Sunday School and Explorers. She played cards and hosted many New Years Eve parties.
May her days in heaven be spent with her family and her best friend, June Hodgkin.
Those of us left here on earth will be able to visit her on Monday, January 5 from 3 to 5 at Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King Street West, Dundas, Ontario.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
