On November 17, 2019 (her “forever young baby’s 24th birthday) Gertrude Ellen Mills (nee Church) in her 86th year, surrounded by the love of her dear family, passed into the waiting arms of her beloved husband, Kenneth (January 2018) at the Brantford General Hospital.

The very best mother to Kathy (Ed), Kenny, Colleen (George), John (Pat), Mark (deceased 1984), and Joel Adam (Diane). An immensely loved Gramma to all of her 9 grandchildren as well as her 10 great grandbabies. A dear sister to her brothers Harold and Ron and sisters Kay, Miriam, Betty, Jeanette (Gord), and brother in law Dick Mills. Predeceased by her adored parents, John and Edith Church (by whom she was called “Gertie”).

Trudy willingly dedicated her entire life to raising her 6 children and lovingly cared for her husband of 67 years. Westover was where she was happiest together with her family, good friends and wonderful neighbours.

Let us always remember her sage advice: “To thine ownself be true”.

Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME Swackhamer Chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Sunday, November 24th from 12-2pm with a Memorial Service being held at 2pm in the funeral home chapel.

Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in Brantford or to the Brantford General Hospital.

I am so sorry to hear of Trudy's passing. My condolences to the whole Mills family. A wonderful neighbour for many many years.
I can remember when you moved in as a young family and watched as it grew. I am in Florida right now and will be not back to attend the services for Trudy. My thoughts go out to all of you.

Dear Family ,
Wonderful memories of Trudy while I was growing up and many visits over the years with her and Ken at Westover . Such a warm , loving home receiving visitors with love and affection and always welcome . Trudy put the teapot on and produced snacks and sitting around the kitchen table or out on the porch , telling stories with humor and always interest . Such a special smile and always welcome . She and Ken were a special couple and now together .
Sent with love and compassion to all the family

I was very sorry to hear of Aunt Trudy's passing. I have many fond memories of her and uncle Ken from my visits to Westover and time they spent at our cottage on Raven Lake as well as family functions we attended together. She is a wonderful lady and I know she will be at peace reunited with uncle Ken.

Sorry to hear of aunt Trudy’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this time. Unfortunately Diane and I are away and will not be able to attend the memorial service. You can bet that our thoughts will be concentrated on aunt Trudy on Sunday afternoon.
I (Rick) will always remember aunt Trudy (so I’m told) who would rock me, walk me and comfort me when I would be screaming with cholic as a baby. THANK YOU AUNT TRUDY. Enjoy your time with your beloved Ken

Love

I remember weeks out at the farm as a kid, fetching milk from Mr. Goceable's farm, baking dozens of cookies with Auntie Gert and making money in the berry patches down the road. Soo many happy memories !
