We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved patriarch in his 87th year. Glenn passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton surrounded by his loving family and the love of his life Mavis.
Predeceased by his mother and father Margaret and Clayton of Rockton and his daughter he missed dearly every single day, Lori. Glenn will be missed immensely by his children Lynne (Jeffery), Robert (Laurie), and Nancy (John). Never forgotten by his grandchildren who he adored Jamie (Jeff), Michael, Erin (Tom), Lindsey (Chris), Chelsea, Benjamin, Liam (Kyara), Jenna (Jay), Corey (Nicole), Alannah, Jake, and Sam. Along with his great grandchildren Easton, Alice, James, Autumn, Charlotte, Cort, Merrick, Callen, Jackson, and Corbin. Glenn was a country boy from Rockton who always remembered his roots, however, it was in the big city of Hamilton that he forged a life long career in the steel industry. Starting with Stelco in the early 1950’s, it was with Harris Steel that Glenn made his mark culminating as the first and long time president of Laurel Steel in Burlington where he earned respect as both leader and friend. Glenn was a frustrated golfer and member of Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club for many years. His most treasured role however was a loving and devoted husband to Mavis. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Amica Dundas for their wonderful care over the last year. Friends will be received at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Thursday, February 14th from 2-4 & 6-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 15th at 11am. If so desired, donations in Glenn’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Society or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
