I am one of the servers at the Saturday morning breakfasts at St. Paul's United Church in Dundas. We always eagerly looked forward to Jim's arrival at a quarter to eight. You could practically set your watch to it. With Jim there, and in his accustomed seat, breakfast could commence. The cooks would start on his bacon and eggs before his formal order was in. His coffee met him at the table and his choice of juice he left to us.
Upon leaving he sometimes would say he had a lot of work to do. What? said we. "Holding the couch down" said he with a twinkle in his eye.
Breakfast, when we resume, just won't be the same without Jim presiding.

Dear Pat
Condolences on the passing of your father. One hundred and six is quite a milestone and I hope that time provided extended opportunities to share your love and reminisce with him. I wish you peace and happiness in your memories and in the times ahead when you think back of your life together. With the best thoughts and memories of your father in your future I hope you will find a welcome solace with his passing.

Jim was my neighbour for the past 14 years. He would always joke about my "wild" parties, knowing that I never had parties. I'll certainly miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Uncle James' immediate family.
I loved Uncle James. I have wonderful, fond memories of him.
I know my Dad, Ken, is going to miss their weekly phone calls. They enjoyed reminiscing and catching up on the latest news from each other.
He will be missed by so many. It is good to know that he is in Heaven with Aunt Ruth and Cousin David.
Take care and stay safe, Tom.

My sympathy to the family. I thought of Jim whenever I was in Dundas, wondering if he was driving around in the car he bought when he was 100.
My condolences too about David. I did not know of his passing. The Orrs and the Whitfields had some lovely family get togethers years ago with our mothers doing lots of cooking.
