OBITUARY

Kenneth George Anderson

July 14, 1935April 20, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Anderson (“The Colonel”) on April 20th in his 86th year.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Ken transitioned peacefully to join his loving wife, Nancy Anderson. Ken was a loving father to Laurie and Lisa, a doting papa to Carley (Conor), Teela-Marie, Nikki (Eric), and Adam (Melanie), and a great-papa to Grey, Alfie, Cameron, Kinsley and Jade. Ken was a selfless and caring man who would do anything for anyone without being asked. Known for his independence, active social life, and love of gardening and landscaping, his zest for life will never be forgotten. He will be dearly missed around his town of Dundas where he was known and loved by so many friends and acquaintances (especially his Tim Horton’s crew).

Many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton for your compassion and caring of Ken during his final journey.

Ken will be laid to rest with his wife Nancy at the Christ Church Cemetery in Flamborough.

Dear Laurie, Nikki, Adam, Lisa, Teela-Marie, Carley and family,

My sincerest sympathy to you over the passing of your beloved Papa Anderson. He will be missed by each of you.

My brother Darryl, many folks in Dundas and others will miss Ken’s friendship and camaraderie. Some will miss being inspired by the boundless energy he seemed to have.

I will remember him fondly. I recall that sunny September day in 1986 when I met him and Nancy. I had just moved to Ontario from New Brunswick and Ken and Nancy had invited Laurie, Darryl and me for summer drinks (peach schnapps & beer I recall) in their backyard. From Day 1, he was friendly and welcoming!

As time moves forward, and when memories of your dad and grandfather come to mind, may they always bring smiles to your faces.

Sincerely,
David Carter,
Toronto

Our condolences to the family. Growing up we lived across the lane for the Anderson’s. Kens property always looked immaculate. He always had time to chat. He was a kind soul. I’m sure he will be missed.
