Dear Marie, Although I was down south when your dear Ken passed away I will always remember the good times we had together after reuniting in Destin and the laughs we enjoyed with Ken & Derek.  I wonder if our US dollar is still hanging in McGuire's Pub!  It was so nice that even after Derek passed away we were still able to enjoy our get togethers. My heart goes out to you and all your large family.  Ken was a special gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.  Hugs, Phyl

Wheelbarrow rides! That is my earliest memory of Granddad. To be followed by many, many more fond ones. Letting me win at board games. Lots of summer adventures. And taking us to see the Muppet Movie of course (I actually think it was more for him than us!). Hikes with Granddad, especially on holidays, were always full of wonder. A family tradition I'm happy to continue with my boys. Thank you so much Granddad for just being Granddad. We will miss you and will always look for you on the trail.

Granddad was one of the kindest souls I ever knew, and was a shining example to his children and grandchildren of how to be a good person.  Some of my fondest memories of granddad are the visits to Ontario that Peter and I made each summer growing up - he would take us hiking, swimming, play board games with us, bring us to amazing places like African Lion Safari and Marineland.  Granddad made us feel like we were the most special people in the world, and I'm so very grateful and honoured to have known him, and proud to be his grandson.

I had the best Dad a kid (and adult) could ever want!  You will be in my heart and mind always!!

Realizing this time is a reflection of my dad - he would have wanted to thank ' mom' for the thankless hours she spent in caring for him. These last few years she unselfishly spent her time looking after him in making sure he got the care he needed. We love you mom for all you did.

With your kind, gentle nature and your subtle sense of humour, you have left us all with a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Whether it was hiking in to Lost Lake, ice fishing for the "big one" or trying to win a huge two dollar pot at poker, your mischievous antics were never far away.
We'll miss peanuts in our drinks, the disappearing Mars bars and, of course, your sober faced grin as you laid down yet another winning poker hand while pretending not to know what game we were playing.
A devoted family man, a true friend and, above all, a first class gentleman.

I'll miss you terribly, Grandad. You showed Steph and I to be adventurous; going on hikes, drinking gross "rotten egg" water and making forts in your backyard trees. I love that you always told embarrassing stories about me (stealing cutlery and stashing it in my diaper as a baby and that time the dishwasher made the house into a giant soapy mess). I'll miss your stories and your patient, kind, warm heart. I'm glad you're at peace. I love you.

I'll never forget our weekend hikes, catching snakes, and drinking hot chocolate at the train tracks when I was younger. Seeing you was always a joy, even if I meant I had to wakeup early to go to breakfast with you and the fam. You were an amazing grandad to me and the rest of your grandchildren and you will be missed greatly by myself and everyone else.

Thanks, Ken, for being the kind of father to Colin that has made him such a loving and caring dad for our children.    I will remember your smiling face and your great laugh.  Brennan and Brianna have been blessed to have you for their Grandad.  

Marie, you and the rest of the family are in my thoughts.   I pray that all of the wonderful memories you have made in your many years of marriage with Ken will help to ease the pain in your heart, today and always.

My sympathy goes out to the entire family and Colin and his family in particular.  It is always very very sad to lose a Dad and I understand that Ken was a good one.  May you and your family always have pleasant thoughts and memories of him.
