Leo Holinka

Passed peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Wentworth Lodge in his 87th year. Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. Beloved husband of Vera (nee Prystupluk) for 65 years. Loving father of Susan Cowie (Ian), cherished Dido of Aaron (Marlena) and Bradley (Natalie), dear brother of Ernest. Dear son of the late Mary and Peter Holinka. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Leo was well known as one of the former owners of The Plantation Hotel. He was also well known in real estate. His hobbies were gardening, baking and wood working. He was always known for his kind smile and dedication to his family, and he will be sadly missed by all that knew him. A grateful thank-you to all the staff at Wentworth Lodge. The family will receive friends for visitation at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 195 King St. West, Dundas, on Tuesday November 22nd from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Panachyda to be held at 7pm. Funeral service to be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 15 Saint Olga Street, Hamilton at 10am on Wednesday November 23rd. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Parkinson’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
