
Lillian Mary Patton, in her 103rd year, died in Hamilton on June 13, 2015. She was born in Toronto, the daughter of Liza Mary Phelp and James Patton Gordon, and lived the majority of her life in Hamilton, Ontario. Graduated in Honours Math and Physics from McMaster University in 1934 and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics in 1935. Lillian taught for over 20 years at the Mountain Sanatorium in Hamilton and spent many years in overseas mission service both in Lebanon and Afghanistan for her Saviour and Friend, Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, the Rev. Russell Gordon, and she is survived by her nephew, the Rev. Noel Gordon and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Dorcas Gordon, and her niece, Mary Gordon and her husband George West, and grandnieces and grandnephews, Mark, Sarah, Timothy, Aaron, Christine, and Jamie, and 9 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A private family burial has taken place. A public memorial service will be held at First Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, 181 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton, on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the First Hamilton Christian Reformed Church for Missionary Support.
