Marilyn was one of the kindest ,honest and most caring people I’ve ever met!

Remember her often and use her wisdom in my own journey.Thinking of her family and friends!

Aunt Marilyn had a way about her that just made you believe that no matter what happened, something good could always be discovered. Always ready to encourage and empower... play, create and learn. We are so thankful that she together with Uncle Fred made it a priority to be at all the weddings of the nephews and nieces, which meant so much to Dorothy and me as we were married in Germany! Supporting the beginning of journeys to who knows where it will end up.

Aunt Marilyn has a very special place in our hearts. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. A pic from our last family reunion at Pender Island, British Columbia. I’m pretty sure in this photo that she got Uncle Fred, first.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Fred and the family . Marilyn was such a bright,caring, kind lady. She will be missed. Marilyn and Fred were much loved and appreciated in their years of service at Grace Lutheran Church, and we at Body and Soul were delighted when she joined us. 

Knowing Marilyn a short time was a gift. She really shone her light right till the end.  Deepest condolences to Fred, Johnathan and Michael.

We have wonderful memories of Marilyn from the family reunion in New Ulm. She made us feel welcome and loved. We send our heartfelt condolences to Fred and the family. 

Marilyn was a lovely, sweet lady, whom we met at church,Holy Cross. She and Fred were always very friendly and easy to chat with. We have missed  them often over these last few years.
We wish Fred to know that we hold them both dear in our hearts.

Marilyn is like an aunt to me and you are like uncle and cousins. Our families were so close as David and I were growing-up in Vancouver. Marilyn always made our times together at each others' houses, camping, boating, skiing, street hockey and a million other good things all work. She also was expert at managing our arguments,  rowdiness and even broken bones. She is part of shaping me. Later on she provided a much needed home-away-from-home at Mississauga when I joined the coast guard. Sorry we can't be at the funeral but will watch from Fort Lauderdale.

Hello, my name is Sabra Edwards, formerly Schmidt, the daughter of Leon & Marlene Schmidt. They adopted me when I was 3 weeks old and I am bi-racial (Black & White). 
I sensed as a young child that none of my family minded that I wasn’t white. It never bothered me. But Aunt Marilyn was my biggest supporter. She always made sure that I knew that the family didn’t care. She did it in little ways and little gestures that spoke volumes to me. She was so loving and kind to me. I will always remember her for that. Thank you Aunt Marilyn.

Although I have not known Marilyn very long, the time that I had with her was very special to me and I will forever be honored to have known such a warm, kind lady.
