Mrs. Mildred Jean Goodridge Shadney

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom and Nana surrounded by her family at the age of 87 on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 at the McMaster Medical Centre. Mildred Jean was born in Kingston, Ontario where she met and married her husband of 64 years, Archie (2009). They moved to Hamilton in 1945. Loving mother of Brian, Peter and Gloria Jolink (husband Mike). Caring Nana of Taylor Shadney, Jessica and Nicole Jolink. Mildred Jean is survived by brother Don Goodridge (Helen) and brother-in-law Owen Shadney. She was a wonderful Aunt Mildred to nephews Mike (Cyndee), Don (Theresa), Scott and Bradley Goodridge, and Auntie Jeanie to nieces April Klein (Mark), and Carol-Ann Cohen. Great Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers Ken and Harold. Mildred Jean was a kind and gentle person, always with a willing ear ready to give wise and caring advice when asked. Family, sports, and gardening were her pride and passion both at home and in Florida. In keeping with Mildred Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will be held.
