

Philip died peacefully on Wed. April 11, 2012, after a courageous battle with ALS. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Ruth, sons Stephen (Joan), Paul (Vicky), and John, grandchildren Lesley and Matthew, Philip, Melanie, Emily, Adam, Shane and Lindsay. Philip is survived by brother Stephen and sisters Betty and Barbara; predeceased by his brother John and sister Priscilla. Philip will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, as well as by dear friends from across the country.
Philip was blessed with over 50 years of ordained ministry in the Anglican Church. He served in the Diocese of Nova Scotia, the National Office of the Anglican Church of Canada, and the Diocese of Niagara. As well, he taught for 10 years at the Atlantic School of Theology.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the wonderful care given to Philip by the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, particularly the Clinical Teaching Unit, and to the staff at Amica.
Visitation will be at St. James Church, 137 Melville Street, Dundas, on Monday, April 16, from 7-9 PM, followed by a vigil. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 17, at 11 AM, at St James Church, Dundas. Cremation to follow.
Anyone wishing to make donations may do so to St James Anglican Church, the ALS Society of Canada, or to the Palliative Care Program at St Joseph’s Hospital.
