Son of the late Pipe Major Frank Augustus Noble, 1st Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's), 1948, and the late Elizabeth Halley, 1997, and stepfather, the late John N. Beacham, 1978. Beloved brother of Allisan Noble of Hamilton, and Peter Beacham (Barbara) of Cambridge; deeply loved "Fruncle Rocket" of Elizabeth (Jamie) Zomer of Hamilton; uncle of Gareth Beacham and Andrew Beacham of Cambridge. Cousin of Jim (Jane) Halley of Brantford and Frank Samson of Ancaster. Dear friend of Jean Norton of Hamilton. Roderick served in the Pipes & Drums, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders; and later in the Irish Regiment of Canada, 3rd Battalion, in Toronto; and then in the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada, in Montreal. He studied at Loyola College, now part of Concordia University, in Montreal. For 25 years, he worked for CÉGEP Vanier College, Montreal. Following early retirement, he returned to Hamilton in 1997. Roderick was a school crossing guard for the City of Hamilton for 12 years. He was a member of Tuscan Lodge #551 and Hugh Murray Lodge #602, A. F. & A. M. G. R. C. Roderick loved his hometown, which he often described as "the biggest small town in Canada". He was well-known in his neighbourhood of James Street North. A friend to many and always a gentleman. His niece claimed that it was he who made James North hip. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at 1 PM with memorial service to follow at 2 PM on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Marlatt Funeral Home Dundas, 195 King St. W., Dundas.
