Ronald William Burn

He was the loving father of daughters, Shirley and JoAnn, cherished grandfather to Jason and great-grandfather to Bethany and Chloe. As a brother to Jean, Eleanor and Kenny, and uncle to many nieces and nephews, he will be greatly missed. Also, with a never-ending positive outlook and outgoing nature, he will also be missed by many, many friends.

As a family, we will always be grateful for the loving and selfless care he gave to his late wife, Mary after she suffered a debilitating stroke. Rather than putting her in a facility, he chose to care for her at home. With love and compassion, devoted his life to her for 13 years until her death in 2011. They will finally be reunited in joy. He will also be re-united with his late sister, Shirley and parents John and Margaret. What a wonderful re-union they will have. Ron’s working career included Bathurst Containers, Dofasco and finally Rheem Canada where he retired.

After selling his home in Hamilton, Ron spent his final months at Aberdeen Gardens. He loved his room, the delicious food and everyone who worked there. Due to Covid, he was unable to continue being a member of the Waterdown Fiddlers. He looked forward to playing with them every week. Seldom did he miss. He did, however, continue to strum his guitar in his room at the Aberdeen.

To all those who knew him, remember him as being a ‘great’ guy, always polite, thoughtful and appreciative for all that was done for him. He loved people. “What a great legacy you have left Ron, we miss you very much.”

Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID, are mandatory to attend indoor visitations for those age 12 and older. Masks are required, as well as providing names and phone numbers to funeral home staff.

Visitation will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11am – 1:30 pm. Funeral Service to follow in the Marlatt Dundas Chapel at 1:30pm. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton.
