Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Grace Helen, in 2013, and his brother Grant in 2018. Beloved Dad of Mandy, widow of Ron; Barbara (Paul), widow of Charles; Tom (Irene); Al (Alyson); and Carl (Linda). Predeceased in 2020 by dear son, Ted, husband of Brenda. Dear Grandpa of 16 and Great-Grandpa of 27. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lifelong resident of Alberton, successful dairy farmer, and later, manager and co-owner of Wentworth Milk Co-operative. Roy was a lifelong member, Treasurer and Elder of Alberton Presbyterian Church. He was past president of the Ancaster Fair and Treasurer of the Ancaster Senior Centre and was very active in other community organizations.
The family is very grateful to the wonderful caregivers at both Carrington Place in Ancaster and Brierwood Gardens in Brantford.
Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “SWACKHAMER CHAPEL”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Thursday, April 4th from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. A private family burial will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 31 Sulphur Springs Road, Ancaster on Friday, April 5th, 2024 at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
