Susanne Jane Ridgway

Susanne Jane Ridgway was born on December 6, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario. She departed this world on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Dundas, Ontario, after a final battle with the many ailments and conditions that she fought so courageously throughout her life. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel Austerberry and sister to the late Jack Austerberry.

Susanne, affectionately and more well known as Mom, Gram, Sue, or Suzy-Q, is survived by her loving Daughter, Kimberley Friesen, Son-in-law, Dwayne Friesen, and her very cherished Grandson, Ryan Friesen… AKA, “the light of her life”. She will be dearly missed by her loving Cousin & confidant, Jane Holtorf, her Sister-in-law Shirley Austerberry, and life-long friend Irene Timmy, and the many others whom she touched throughout her life.

Her early working life included Prudential Insurance in Toronto. After raising her own daughter, she decided to pursue a career as an Early Childhood Educator and was passionate about nurturing and educating young minds. Her commitment to fostering the growth and development of children reflected her kindness and caring.

Sue's life was a testament to courage, strength, love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her warm and caring nature touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

May she finally rest in peace, and may the memories of her enduring love and beautiful heart bring comfort to all who knew her.

We will go forward with you forever in our hearts, and endeavor to live lives that you would be proud of.

Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a future date. Please feel free to share memories, thoughts, remembrances, and pictures.
