

Alice Ellen (Green) Guiel, 87, of East Hartford, loving wife of 48 years of the late Louis Francis Guiel, peacefully joined her husband in Heaven on Monday, (June 25, 2012) at her home surrounded by her caring family. Born in Burlington, a daughter of the late George and Annie Green, she had been a resident of Terryville for 25 years prior to moving to East Hartford two years ago. Alice was a talented quilt maker who loved crocheting, solving cross-word puzzles, and shopping. She was also a proud wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in spending time and caring for her family. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Casey of East Windsor; and a sister, Vivian Green of Farmington. Alice is survived by two sons, George J. Guiel and his wife, Carol, of Bloomfield, John L. Guiel and his wife, Donna, of East Hartford with whom she made her home; a daughter, Patricia ""Pat"" Mitchell of Manchester; a son-in-law, Brian Casey of East Windsor; seven grandchildren, Rick Mitchell and his wife, Cheryl, of Tolland, Robin Shea and her husband, Mike, of Tolland, Stephen Ferrari of Enfield, David Ferrari and his wife, Carol, of Hebron, Adam Ferrari and his wife, Daisy, of Windsor Locks, Alex Guiel of Bloomfield, Justin Guiel of East Hartford; eleven great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Kelly, Kacie, Taylor, Nina, Shane, Jacob, Cathy, Freddie, Christopher, and Nathan; one great, great-granddaughter, Chloe; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28 at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at the State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
