Angel Luis Oliveras, 72, of East Hartford, loving husband of over 52 years of Loida (Gonzalez) Oliveras, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 with his caring family by his side at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Manati, Puerto Rico on January 22, 1953, the son of the late Rafael Ortiz and the late Enelia Burgos, he had been a resident of East Hartford for over the past 35 years. Prior to his retirement, Luis was employed as a truck driver in the Hartford area for 33 years, spending most of his career driving for Beauty Enterprises, Hartford.
A gentleman with strong faith, Luis was a long-time active member of Temple Fe Assembly of God Church in Hartford. At church, he was a deacon and a member of the church choir, men’s ministry choir, the church worship team, and other ministries at the church. A talented musician, Luis liked playing the guitar, the percussion, and singing. He was a simple man who followed the sport of boxing, and he liked all brands of automobiles that he could sell, buy, and eventually drive. Most of all, Luis was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family.
In addition to his beloved Loida, Angel is survived by two daughters, Natalie Oliveras and her husband Alex Ortiz Perez of East Hartford, Yarisha Oliveras of Middletown; six sons, Pedro Oliveras and his wife Karen of Manchester, Luis Oliveras and his wife Zamara of East Hartford, Angel Oliveras, Jr. of Worcester, MA, Giovanni Vazquez and his wife Alisha of Rocky Hill, Dillon Curtis of East Hartford, and Tyshawn Oliveras of East Hartford; twelve special grandchildren; and eight adored great-grandchildren.
