

Angelina (Mazzadra) LaPlant, 90, of East Hartford, peacefully passed away on Tuesday (August 26) at Hartford Hospital. Angelina was the loving wife of the late Arthur LaPlant and the late Thomas Frank Baker. Born on October 3, 1917 in East Hartford, a daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Ottinelli) Mazzadra, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an inspector for thirty years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. Angelina was a member of the East Hartford Emblem Club and the Italian/American Club in East Hartford. She was also very active in the Democratic Party of East Hartford and volunteered for the East Hartford Food Bank. Angelina also enjoyed boating, camping, and crafts, especially ceramics. Angelina will be dearly missed by all family and friends who knew her as a wonderful care giving individual. Besides her beloved husbands and parents, Angelina was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Stroman of East Hartford; three brothers, Anthony Mazzadra, Louis Mazzadra, and Frank Mazzadra all of East Hartford; and a daughter-in-law, Lillian Baker of East Hartford. Angelina is survived by a son, John F. Baker, Sr. of East Hartford; a daughter, Jean B. Lenares and her husband, Paul, of Jensen Beach, FL; a brother, Aldo Mazzadra, Sr. of East Hartford; nine grandchildren, Joanne Gutt and her husband, Robert, of Burlington, VT, Theresa Lenares of Gainsville, FL, Paula Rudisill of Willington, Lisa Mowers and her husband, James, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Frank Baker and his wife, Robin, of Newington, Diane Simpson of East Hartford, Darlene Stroman of East Hartford, a very caring grandson, John Baker and his wife, Donna, of East Hartford, and granddaughter, Carol Baker of East Hartford. Angelina also leaves a caring niece, Cynthia Rose of East Hartford; thirteen adored great-grandchildren; many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery (Section P), Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
