

Angeline “Angee” R. (Riccardo) Willis, 92, of East Hartford, loving wife of 58 years of the late Durward “Butch” Willis, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by her caring family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Ripon, CA on September 8, 1924 a daughter of the late Effie Riccardo and James Senatro, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 59 years. Angee grew up and attended schools in Hartford and was a graduate at the age of 16 of Weaver High School, Class of 1941. Prior to her retirement, Angee made a career working for grocery stores, starting with First National in East Hartford and then at Andy’s Food Town on Main Street, East Hartford where she retired in 1989 after many years of dedicated service as an office administrator. A devout Catholic, Angee was a long time faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She was a talented bowler and participated in several area leagues with her late husband. She also loved traveling with Butch to Italy, England, and throughout the United States, especially to Las Vegas. Although she loved to visit casinos and solve cross-word puzzles, Angee truly liked watching her television programs, and her family knew to never interrupt her while she watched “Judge Judy”, “Wheel of Fortune”, and “Jeopardy”. Most of all, Angee will be remembered as a gentle woman who was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and proud grandmother who loved being around her family members.
Angee is survived by her six children, Lynn W. Morin and her husband, Gerald, of Manchester, Judy A. Willis and her fiancée, Marc Kashinsky, of Long Beach, CA, Debbie Jean Willis of Manchester, Margot Willis-Doyle and her husband, Peter Doyle, of Charlestown, RI, Durward M. Willis and his wife, Carmel, of Glastonbury, James C. Willis and his wife, Wendy, of East Hartford; nine cherished grandchildren, Jared Morin of West Hartford, Mark Willis and his wife, Fiona, of Buxton, ME, Brendan Willis Coates and his girlfriend, Jenny, of West Hollywood, CA, Brent Morin of Valley Village, CA, Danielle Willis of Manhattan, NY, Dr. Matt Morin of West Hollywood, CA, Jenna Willis Coates of Boston, MA, Emily Burgin and her husband, Hardie, of East Hartford, Benjamin Willis of Vernon; four adored great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Colton, and Olivia Burgin of East Hartford, Vaughn Willis of Buxton, ME; her beloved pug dog, Gracie Anne; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Monday (March 13th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Angee’s family has asked that everyone please go directly to the church on Monday morning. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Sunday afternoon (March 12th) from 2-5 pm.
