Anna A Trabucco, 89, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Hartford Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Hartford on September 16, 1936, to the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Guistiniani) Aleria, she was a lifelong resident of East Hartford and a proud graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1954. For more than 30 years, she worked for the Town of East Hartford, retiring as Secretary to the Fire Chief. She loved her work, took great pride in it, and made many treasured friendships along the way.
Ann was full of energy and never lost her love for life or for having a good time. She was an active member of the East Hartford Senior Center, where she enjoyed bingo and the company of friends. She loved participating in a football pool and had the gift of picking the winning team. She also enjoyed going to the casino and treated the Kentucky Derby as a national holiday. The beach was her “happy place,” where she could relax and soak up the sunshine, often with her friend Carol. Being Italian, she loved cooking and took pride in serving her sauce and meatballs. Above all, she was a proud, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners and holidays.
She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Deborah Young of Sarasota, FL, and Sue Watson Miano and her husband Guy Miano of Manchester; her brother Frank Aleria (Gayle) of East Hartford; her five beloved grandchildren, Lauren Young, Kristen Young, Kelly Leitao (Matt), Chris Watson (Lindsay) and Allison Young (Rick). She also leaves her ten adored great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “GG.”, several nieces and nephews, along with many others who will miss her. She also leaves her very dear friend, Carol Smith (Dale), who was like a family member to her.
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her siblings, Sadie Hodgdon (Arden), Irene Driscoll (Frank), Anthony Aleria (Shirley) and Connie Greco (Subby).
A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a prayer service following at 12 noon. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Section P, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
