AnnMarie (Giansanti) Langenfeld, 84, of East Hartford, loving wife of 60 years to Henry R. Langenfeld, peacefully entered into eternal life with her caring family by her side on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in Hartford on November 16, 1941, a daughter of the late Paul F. and Philomena (Scavetta) Giansanti, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 64 years. AnnMarie grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, class of 1959.
A devout catholic and a woman of strong faith, AnnMarie was a longtime communicant of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford. She truly liked traveling on religious excursions to historical sites and cities throughout Europe.
AnnMarie was a talented knitter who liked making hats for cancer patients and others to have. She also loved cooking and baking for her family and friends to enjoy, especially at holiday time. AnnMarie received great joy spending many summers vacationing at Cape Cod and going on drives with her husband to the Connecticut shoreline, to watch the boats and indulge in wonderful seafood dinners. Most of all, AnnMarie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished every moment spent with her entire family.
Along with her beloved husband Henry, AnnMarie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” M. Canevari and her husband Robert of Windsor; three sons, Joseph R. Langenfeld and his wife Marie of Myrtle Beach, SC, John A. Langenfeld and his wife Sara of Manchester, James F. Langenfeld and his wife Ellen of Coventry; a sister, Joann Denning of Wakefield, RI; six special grandchildren, Morgan Langenfeld of Conway, SC, Vincent Langenfeld of Conway, SC, Victoria Canevari of New Britain, Matthew Canevari of Windsor, Raymond Langenfeld of Coventry, Jessica Langenfeld of Coventry; one adored great-grandson, David Crim of Conway, SC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, AnnMarie was predeceased by a brother, Paul J. Giansanti of Marlborough, and a sister Rosemary C. St. John of South Windsor.
Funeral service will be Saturday (August 15th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Saturday morning. AnnMarie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday afternoon (August 14th) from 3 – 5 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in AnnMarie’s memory may be made to Mother Cabrina League, 434 W. Deming Pl., Chicago, IL 60614-1719.
