Anthony Iafrate

have a memory or condolence to add?

Alfred Bergbauer Jr

July 24, 2020

Dear Iafrate Family,

I want to express my most heartfelt condolences for your loss. Tony was a trusted colleague who became a friend to me. I valued his dry wit and steady approach to life. He carried the burden of being the smartest person in the room with stoic resolve. One of his most endearing qualities was his ability to listen to others and acknowledge their contributions and incorporate them into his work and life. His sincerity and ability to touch others could be disarming at times. He was a rare and truly kind man who I enjoyed working with very much.
The world lost a great person this week.

I am sorry that I will not be able to join you in person for the celebration of Tony's exemplary life. I will be with you in spirit.

With deepest sympathies, Alfred Bergbauer

I was very saddened to hear of Tony’s passing. Working with Tony was always a pleasant experience. He was professional, courteous and always helpful. Those of us in London who were lucky enough to engage with him benefited from his wisdom and experience. My condolences to all of his family.

Before retiring in 2014 from General Re, I worked closely with Tony his entire career. I was the individual responsible for Workers’ Compensation/Employer’s Liability in the home office claim department. Besides being an accomplished and consummate professional, and an associate I relied on constantly, Tony was a caring and good friend. Sadly, he was taken from us far too soon, and I express my deepest condolences to his loving family on losing a devoted father who I know loved his family with all his heart.
