Antoinette Modugno

Antoinette “Cookie” (Pascarelli) Modugno, 92, formerly of East Hartford, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at a local rehabilitation center. Cookie was the loving wife of 70 years of the late Antonio Modugno, Sr. Born in Hartford on November 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Matteo and Rose (Senatore) Pascarelli, she had been a resident on Ridgewood Road, East Hartford for many years. A devout catholic, Cookie was a longtime faithful communicant of the former St. Rose Church in East Hartford. She took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker and was a proud, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment she had with her entire family.

Antoinette is survived by two sons, Joseph Modugno of East Hartford, Antonio Modugno, Jr. of South Windsor; two daughters, Anna Marie Lamontagne and her husband Robert of West Chester, PA, Angela Rhodes and her husband Chic of Windsor; four special grandchildren, Ken Lamontagne of Downingtown, PA, Michelle Lamontagne of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Paul Valintakonis and his wife Jamie of Enfield, Billie Bourque and her husband Morgan of Windsor; and five adored great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Matteo Pascarelli and his wife Carol of Windsor Locks; a sister, Lena Hajduk and her husband Joseph of Mebane, NC; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Chesky of East Hartford.

Funeral service will be Tuesday (December 3, 2024) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday morning from 10 - 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Antoinette’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
