Antonio Amaro, 83 of East Hartford, beloved husband of Zoraida Amaro passed away peacefully on Sunday April 26, 2020 at UConn John Dempsey Hospital. Born August 22, 1936 in Guayama, Puerto Rico predeceased by his parents Luis Amaro and Josepha Rivera. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Moore in Windsor as a Material Handler. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and brother in law.
He is survived by his children Carmen Pagan and husband Carlos Pagan from Hartford, Luis Amaro and wife Malinda Amaro from East Hartford, Ivan Amaro and wife Gina Amaro from Plantsville, Nancy Perez and husband Tomas Perez from Hartford, Javier Amaro from East Hartford and predeceased by a daughter Wanda Amaro. He is also survived by his sister Ester Rivera from Hartford, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their special thanks to UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Hartford Healthcare Hospice, Keep Me Home Agency and his case worker Jessica Rios.
Due to the current health crisis at the present time, private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date and time to be announced.
