Barbara Ann Magaldi Burrows

Barbara Ann (Magaldi) Burrows, 77, of East Hartford, departed this life on Thursday, September 25,, 2014. Barbara was born in Hartford on August 2, 1937 to the late Anthony and Lee (Gianne) Magaldi. She is predeceased by her step mother, Beatrice Magaldi, brother, James Magaldi, and her husband, Robert A. Burrows, Sr. ""Bobbie"" Magaldi graduated in 1955 from Weaver High School, Hartford. She worked in the East Hartford and Massachusetts public school systems retiring at age 75. ""Mrs. B"" touched the lives and hearts of countless children who considered her a trusted friend and a second mom and she considered them her ""kids"". A combination of a proud feisty Italian and a loving, caring, nurturing soul who believed in cherishing each day and each person she was around, and could tell you how to make a great tomato sauce or how to enjoy a fine red wine. Barbara leaves behind her children: Ted W. Burrows and his wife Carmen of East Hartford, and Robert A. Burrows, Jr and his partner Amber Bouley of East Hartford. Seven grandchildren: Anthony Burrows and his fiancée Nicole Bryan of West Springfield, Maritza Burrows of Boston, MA, Alexa Burrows of Boston, MA , Chase Burrows of Coventry, and Blake Burrows, Parker Burrows and Kady Bouley all of East Hartford; and one great grandson, Gabriel Alexander Burrows of West Springfield, MA. She also leaves Barbara Landrigan and her husband Dan of Wethersfield, whom Barbara considered the daughter she never had, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday (September 30th) at 9:30 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section K), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (September 29th) from 4-7 pm.
