Barbara Ann Pearson

Barbara Ann (Szymkiewicz) Pearson, 68, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 47 years of Thomas L. Pearson, Sr., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Fall River, MA on December 4, 1947, Barbara was a resident of East Hartford for most of her life. She was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, Class of 1965. Barbara was an Administrative Assistant for 42 years working at Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford and Met Life Insurance Company, Hartford. She enjoyed playing games, especially “Scrabble” and “Cribbage”. Most of all, Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Along with her beloved husband, Thomas, Barbara is survived by a son, Thomas L. Pearson, Jr. and his significant other, Traci McCann, of East Hartford; a daughter, Heather L. Pearson of East Hartford; four adored grandchildren, Jordan Pearson, Zackary Pearson, Jacob Pearson, and Sara Pearson. She also leaves a brother, Walter Szymkiewicz, Jr. of Ocala, FL; three sisters, Irene Pinkham of Ocala, FL, Esther Gasper of East Hartford, Helen Richardson of Ocala, FL; many nieces, nephews, former co-workers, and dear friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday (March 5, 2016) at 10:30 am at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Silver Lane Cemetery (Veteran’s Field #2), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Saturday morning from 9 -10:30 am.
