

Beverly Ann Potvin, 75, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Beverly was born on December 21, 1948, in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Romeo and Ann (Disipio) Potvin. Beverly grew up in East Hartford, graduating from East Hartford High School, Class of 1966. Prior to her retirement, she was a Secretary for the University of Kentucky where she was known for her efficiency and vivacious personality.
Her greatest achievement, her pride and joy were her sons, whom she loved and adored dearly. She will always be remembered for being a wonderful mother, sister and friend. Beverly enjoyed making stained glass, crocheting, creating beautiful pieces to give to her family and friends. She loved to cook and was happiest when her boys surrounded her table enjoying a delicious meal. She loved to be with her family. She loved to dance and listen to Motown. She had a zest for life. She loved nature and the outdoors, especially going on long walks, she set the pace and was a tough one to keep up with! She was thoughtful and kind, and she loved to laugh. She had a contagious laugh and beautiful smile. She loved going on her trips to Rhode Island with her cousins.
Beverly will be missed dearly by her sons, Daniel P. McInnis and wife Stacy of Bristol, James P. McInnis of Enfield, her grandson Devon LaCapra of Bristol. She also leaves her brothers Robert Potvin and wife Marilyn, of East Hartford, Richard Potvin and wife Pauline of Naples, FL., Dennis Potvin and wife Maria, of Newington, her sister Susan Sheehan and husband Mike of Niantic, Joseph Potvin and partner Joann of Alabama. In addition, she leaves her cousins that were more like her sisters, Linda (Disipio) Jacques, JoAnn (Disipio) Pelletier, and Teresa (Disipio) Smith. Along with her nieces and nephews Steven, Amy, Mark, Kelly, Timothy, Ashley, Michael, Frank, and her dear best friend Kathy Kurland. Beverly was predeceased by her first husband and the father of her boys, Steven R. McInnis.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to Jen Trottier, Bev’s caretaker and friend who cared for her during her most trying times, it is because of her genuine care & dedication that allowed us to keep Mom in her own home longer.
Beverly’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489. Beverly’s family would also like to give a special Thanks to the entire staff & Hospice staff at Salmon Brook Nursing Home, Glastonbury for their compassionate care of Beverly.
