
Beverly (Vaughn) Morin, 61, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Hartford on February 20, 1950, a daughter of the late Sam and Flora (Jackson) Vaughn, she had been a resident of East Hartford for over 35 years. Beverly was an outstanding cook who loved to cook for family and friends, and she also enjoyed solving cross-word puzzles. Beverly is survived by a daughter, Marie Doherty and her husband, John, of Coventry; a sister, Ruby J. Eady of East Hartford; three grandchildren, Angela Duval of Newington, Jason Crocker and Sean Crocker both of Coventry; her “common-law” husband of 26 years, Scott LaVoie of East Hartford with whom she made her home; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Beverly was predeceased by a son, Michael A. Duval of East Hartford, and two brothers, Willie James Vaughn of Hartford and Sam Vaughn, Jr. of East Hartford.
Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly’s name may be made to American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
