

Bobby Douglas Tickle, 89, peacefully passed away after a long illness. He was born on January 26, 1937, in Burlington, North Carolina, the beloved son of the late Clarence and Ruby (Qualls) Tickle. Bobby was a resident of East Hartford for the past 70 years.
Before his retirement, Bobby worked as a Plant Manager for Merrow Machine Company. He was a proud United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Bobby was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting coins and was an avid college basketball fan, proudly supporting both the University of North Carolina and the University of Connecticut.
Bobby will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Pauline Landry of Manchester; his sons, Brian Douglas Tickle of South Windsor and Craig L. Tickle of Kentucky; and his four grandchildren, Douglas Tickle, Alexis Tickle, Jack Stricker, and Abby Stricker. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Herb of North Carolina, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Along with his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Faith, and his siblings, Tommy Tickle, Pete Tickle, Conrad Tickle, Audrey Nunn, and Margaret Wright.
Bobby’s friends and relatives may call at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11 am – 12 pm. Burial will take place in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of your choice.
