

Bonnie Lou Avery, 74, formerly of East Hartford, peacefully journeyed home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2025, with her caring family by her side at Touchpoints at Chestnut. Born in Bath, Maine on May 14, 1950, a daughter of the late Edward Warren and Pauline Pearly (Miller) Avery, she had been a resident of East Hartford for most of her life. Bonnie grew up in Bath, Maine and attended Morse High School in Bath. She worked many years at Arrow Pharmacy in East Hartford as a Pharmacy Technician.
Bonnie loved making puzzles and was an avid reader who enjoyed reading novels by James Patterson. She liked watching Paula Deane and used several recipes by her. She was an excellent cook who often cooked for her family, especially her potato salad. She was an avid fan of UConn women’s basketball and a longtime loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed going to weekly tag sales and taking scenic rides with her family during the four seasons of New England. Most of all, Bonnie was a devoted, proud mother and grandmother who especially cherished her time spent with her grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by two sons, Allan Dean of East Hartford, Luis Flores and his significant other Desiree Rosario of Rocky Hill; two daughters, Suzanne McCabe and her husband James of East Hartford, Tammy R. Tillotson and her husband Edward of East Hartford; five special grandchildren, Alyssa Tillotson, Michael Tillotson, Destini Flores, Luna Flores, Legend Flores; two adored great-grandchildren, Alexander Ferrer and Ayla Ferrer; several cousins and dear friends. Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by a brother, John Avery of San Diego, CA.
Funeral service will be Friday (January 31, 2025) at 12 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 10:30 am to 12 pm. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
