Carlos Castillo

Carlos M. Castillo Miranda, 91, of East Hartford, entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1933 in Añasco, Puerto Rico. Carlos proudly served in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, Carlos became a Mental Health Social Worker II and earned his Master’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University.

A devout catholic, Carlos was a long time member and Eucharistic minister of St. Lawrence O’Toole, Maria Reina de la Paz Roman Catholic Parish, Hartford. He also enjoyed making rosary beads and was an avid viewer of the EWTN Catholic Channel. In his free time, Carlos loved to cook and collected coins and vinyl records.

Carlos leaves behind his two cherished sons; Carlos L. Castillo Jr. and his wife Diana of Amherst, MA, and Jeffrey Castillo of East Hartford. Four adored grandchildren; Desiree Dupruis, Gabriel Castillo, Ruth-Solange Castillo, and Enrique Cruz. And his former spouse and the mother his children, Luz M. (Cruz) Robataile. Along with his parents, Carlos is predeceased by all of his siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole, Maria Reina de la Paz Roman Catholic Parish, 494 New Britain Ave, Hartford, CT 06106. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 3 – 4 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carlos’s name to St. Lawrence O’Toole, Maria Reina de la Paz Roman Catholic Parish, 494 New Britain Ave, Hartford, CT 06106.
